In online poker, a position of utmost importance and a position could mean the difference between victory and defeat. A position could be either advantageous or disadvantageous to a player. The reason positions are there is to let you act after the player, not before him. Needles to say it will take you a few minutes or at least a few seconds if you act after someone if you find out what he has done to you. You cannot depend on the actions of your opponent, you will have to be proactive and take some action yourself. If you act after someone has acted, you can plan your action based on the outcome of their action. But when it comes to practical reality, the fact that you are acting after somebody instead of before is not the only thing that decides the outcome of the game there are a few other things as well. In the end, how successful your position strategy is depend on how good you are as a poker player and it will also depend on the skills of your opponents as players.
